They presented evidence from public records indicating that complaints regarding the property began in 2021, following the developer's acquisition. Investigations conducted by the Durham agency into allegations of illegal herbicide use and other environmental violations found no merit in the complaints, with no violations issued.

The meeting highlighted the ongoing tensions between community members and developers, as well as the scrutiny surrounding environmental practices in Miami-Dade County. As discussions continue, the board will need to consider both community concerns and the developer's compliance with regulations as they move forward with the zoning and development plans.
