During the recent Derby City Council meeting held on January 28, 2025, community spirit and recognition took center stage as the Tiara Pines Homeowners Association was honored as Derby's Neighborhood of the Year for 2024. This accolade highlights the association's commitment to fostering a vibrant and supportive community through volunteer efforts and collaborative projects.

Aaron Fulcher, president of the Tiara Pines HOA, submitted the nomination, emphasizing the residents' dedication to maintaining shared spaces, organizing community events, and assisting neighbors in need. The association's initiatives, such as holiday decorations and social gatherings, have not only beautified the neighborhood but also strengthened bonds among residents, making Tiara Pines a model for community engagement.

In addition to the neighborhood recognition, the council proclaimed February 6, 2025, as Optimist Day in Derby. This proclamation celebrates the contributions of the Derby Optimist Club, which has been active since 1968, providing scholarships and service projects that positively impact local youth.
