Richardson's commitment to fostering a supportive environment was evident in her efforts to connect with English Language Learner (ELL) students and their families. She implemented initiatives like displaying a map of students' home countries to raise awareness and ensure that families had access to necessary resources, including translation services for informational meetings.

Principal Amy Steadman praised Richardson as an invaluable asset to the Derby community, especially as the diversity within the district continues to grow, with 56 different languages represented this year.
