During a recent Finance and Economic Resiliency Committee meeting, city officials discussed an innovative umbrella program that would see rainbow umbrellas adorning the iconic 12th or 13th Street Beach for Bridal Month, and pink umbrellas for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The proposal, championed by city leaders, aims to reaffirm Miami Beach's commitment to inclusivity and support for the LGBT community, especially in light of recent state-level changes that have removed references to LGBT tourism from official materials.
