In a recent special board meeting held on January 23, 2025, the Socorro Independent School District (SISD) Board of Trustees celebrated the remarkable achievements of the Pebble Hills High School Spartan Marching Band. This recognition highlighted the band’s impressive performances on both national and international stages, showcasing their dedication and talent.

The Spartan Marching Band has made significant strides in the music community, having represented the region at prestigious events. Notably, the Flute Choir participated in the 2024 National Flute Association Convention in San Antonio, where they engaged with esteemed flute professors and musicians. Additionally, the school's woodwind ensemble earned the honor of being selected as an honor band, performing under distinguished guest conductors at the Western International Band Clinic in Seattle last November.

The band also made history by being the only marching band from the El Paso area to compete in the 2024 State Open Class Marching Band Contest at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Their season culminated in a groundbreaking performance at the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California, on January 1, 2025, marking a significant milestone as the first band from El Paso to achieve this honor.

The board meeting included a formal introduction of the band members and their directors, with a special acknowledgment of assistant band director Maria Carvajal and band director Maximo Sierra. The recognition not only celebrated the students' hard work but also emphasized the importance of music education in fostering talent and community pride.
