School lunch sparks joy as students rave about chicken and winter dance success

The Hillside Public Schools held its end-of-year meeting on December 19, 2024, where several key topics were discussed, highlighting recent events and initiatives within the district.

The meeting began with a discussion about the recent lunch program, where students expressed enthusiasm over the quality of the chicken served. A staff member noted that students were particularly excited about the chicken with bones, leading to requests for more variety in their meals. This positive feedback from students has prompted parents to inquire about the recipe used, indicating a strong interest in maintaining the quality of school lunches.

Next, the meeting addressed the successful Winter White Dance, which saw participation from 305 students. The event was supported by donations from the Hillside Education Association (HEA) and parents, providing bicycles, scooters, snacks, and stuffed animals for the children. The meeting also highlighted the launch of a new reading incentive program, which was described as a success.
