Residents of Bullhead City are urged to be mindful of what they dispose of in the sewer system, following a recent Parks and Recreation Commission meeting. John Trequato from the city's wastewater division highlighted the critical importance of proper waste disposal, emphasizing that only human waste, toilet paper, and gray water should be flushed. He warned that flushing items like wipes, paper towels, and other non-biodegradable products can lead to severe sewer backups, costing taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars in repairs.

In addition to waste management discussions, the meeting showcased Rotary Park as Bullhead City's premier outdoor sports destination. Located at 2315 Balboa Drive, the park features over 300 acres of recreational space, including six softball fields, a baseball field, a football field, eight lighted pickleball courts, and a nine-hole disc golf course. The park is open daily from 4:30 AM to 11 PM, providing ample opportunities for community engagement and outdoor activities.

The city also provided updates on solid waste collection services, now managed by Republic Services. Residents can expect trash collection from Monday to Thursday, with specific service areas designated for each day. Additionally, residents are entitled to six bulky item pickups per year, which can be scheduled through the city’s website.
