The Brookline School Committee meeting on December 19, 2024, highlighted several significant events that foster community spirit and inclusivity within Brookline High School (BHS).

One of the standout moments was the annual Powerpuff game, where the senior class of 2025 triumphed over the juniors with a close score of 9 to 7. This year’s game was noted for its competitive spirit, marking a historic win for the seniors, who have now claimed victory in both their junior and senior years. The event not only showcased athleticism but also served as a unifying experience for students, with the school decorated in class colors, blue for seniors and red for juniors.

In addition to the Powerpuff game, the school recently hosted its first assembly of the year focused on disability education. This assembly aimed to raise awareness and understanding of disabilities among students and faculty. It featured personal stories from students and teachers with disabilities, emphasizing the importance of accessibility and support within the school environment. Various grade-specific lessons were conducted, with seniors learning about improving physical accessibility at BHS.

The meeting also touched on the successful Latinx Fiesta organized by the Latinx Club, which brought together students, parents, and community members. This vibrant event included dancing, music, and speeches that celebrated Latino heritage and its representation in the school curriculum, further strengthening community ties.
