Local police and volunteers bring holiday cheer to 45 kids through Shop with a Cop event

The Village of Hoffman Estates is spreading holiday cheer through its annual "Shop with a Cop" event, which aims to bring joy to local children in need. This year, the initiative is supporting 45 kids, providing them with a unique shopping experience alongside police officers and community volunteers.

During the event, participants receive gift cards worth $240, thanks to generous contributions from local businesses. Target has played a significant role, donating turkeys for Thanksgiving and offering a 20% discount on purchases, making the shopping experience even more special for the children. Additionally, Farmers Insurance provided refreshments for volunteers, while Red Roof Inn contributed funds raised during Thanksgiving.

As volunteers wrap gifts and assist children in selecting their presents, the atmosphere is filled with excitement and community spirit. Trustee members and police department representatives expressed their joy in participating, highlighting the collaborative effort that makes the event successful.
