Beychaud athlete Joseph qualifies for state meet while excelling academically and inspiring teammates

The Board of Education meeting held on December 18, 2024, highlighted significant achievements by local student-athletes and recognized a generous donation to the district's cultural arts program.

During the session, a coach praised student Jeb for his remarkable performance in distance running, noting his journey from finishing 16th at a state qualifying meet to securing 6th place in the state meet despite challenging weather conditions. The coach emphasized Jeb's determination and hard work, which not only led him to achieve his goal of competing at the state level but also served as an inspiration to his teammates.

Additionally, the meeting featured a heartfelt acknowledgment of Matthew Modul, a former student and successful sound engineer, who donated approximately $28,100 to the cultural arts program for new sound equipment at 5th Avenue School.
