The initiative, funded through American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) resources, will employ a full-time consultant dedicated to helping local businesses navigate challenges such as equipment upgrades, payroll adjustments, and business loans. McComb emphasized the importance of supporting the region's small businesses, which constitute a significant portion of the local economy, noting that many operate with fewer than ten employees.

In addition to direct support, the program will include the development of a business incubator to foster new enterprises and retain essential services within the community. McComb urged county commissioners to promote awareness of these resources among local business owners, highlighting the critical role that small businesses play in the economic landscape.

The meeting also touched on the importance of employee feedback in shaping future plans, with Noelle, a participant, confirming that a survey would be distributed to gather insights on employee priorities.
