Kayla Taylor, a part-time paramedic with Acadian Ambulance, recounted her experience responding to a cardiac arrest dispatch at 325 Richmond Avenue on May 31, 2022.

Upon arrival, Taylor observed a chaotic scene with police and firefighters present. She described the residence as a duplex and noted that the child appeared emaciated and in poor condition. During her assessment, she identified signs of rigor mortis, indicating that the child had been deceased for some time. Taylor stated that resuscitation efforts were already underway but were ultimately deemed futile, leading her to advise the firefighter to cease attempts to revive the child.

Taylor also mentioned a female adult present at the scene, who provided information about the child's recent health issues, including significant weight loss and illness. The adult reportedly indicated that the child had been advised to consume milk and vitamins.
