Councilwoman Toy raised accessibility issues, noting that shopping cart corrals are often absent near handicap parking spots in local markets, urging the council to consider this in future planning. She also voiced her apprehension about rewarding businesses that have neglected property maintenance in the past.

The conversation shifted to the Meijer project, with representatives from the company emphasizing the importance of obtaining a Special Designated Merchant (SDM) license to remain competitive with other grocery chains that sell beer and wine.
