He noted that successful projects in the past have included floodwalls for wastewater treatment plants, which have helped prevent costly damages during flooding events.

Additionally, Lindeman provided updates on a broadband study aimed at improving connectivity across the region, as well as a long-term passenger rail project between Peoria and Chicago. This project, which has an estimated cost of $2.5 billion, is in the early stages of feasibility studies and funding applications, with hopes for federal support.
