Forrest On, president of Flagler Babe Ruth Baseball, expressed gratitude to the commissioners for their ongoing efforts to protect youth athletes, particularly through the implementation of smoke-free policies in county parks. On highlighted the collaborative work that has taken place over the past two years, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding the health of young residents.

Terry Williams, the Tobacco Free Flagler program manager, shared her long-standing commitment to addressing smoking in public spaces, recalling her initial discussions with local officials back in 2005. She praised the recent progress made in establishing smoke-free environments, noting the challenges faced in achieving these goals.

Jaffee Lee, former chair of the Tobacco Free Flagler Partnership, echoed these sentiments, stressing the importance of creating healthy spaces for youth. Lee, who facilitates local quit smoking programs, thanked the board for their support in advancing these health policies.

Meetings with homeowners associations in the Hammock Dunes development are underway, with plans for public outreach and an online survey to gather community input.
