In a recent government meeting, officials outlined a series of upcoming events and services aimed at enhancing mental health support in the community. Catalyst Life Services is offering urgent care services with walk-in assessments and brief psychotherapy available on Mondays, Thursdays, and Tuesdays, with extended hours on Wednesdays. Additionally, a warm line is accessible for individuals seeking someone to talk to about their mental health concerns.
Key events include the Connections Peer Support Group meeting on September 5th at Kingwood Centre, and a proclamation celebrating Recovery Month on September 6th. The community will also see a series of awareness initiatives, including a candlelight vigil for suicide prevention hosted by NAMI Richland County and Healing Hearts on September 10th.
Further activities include the 6th annual golf outing by 33 Forever on September 8th, and the 3rd annual Celebrate Recovery event by Catalyst Life Services on September 11th. The village of Lexington will again recognize Recovery Month with a proclamation on September 16th, coinciding with family support group services at Kingwood Center.
On September 21st, Family Life Counseling will sponsor a fall festival open to the public, and on September 28th, Healing Hearts will host \"Rocking Recovery,\" an event focused on remembrance through rock painting. Looking ahead, NAMI will conduct its 33rd scribe intervention team training on October 7th, followed by an ethics training session for mental health professionals on October 17th.
