Stephen Abbasta, vice president of the Helping Hand, supported Sanford's claims, emphasizing that the organization had previously run successful fundraising events without issues. He recounted his observations at the fireworks stand, where he repeatedly reminded the coaching staff to secure the cash bag, which was often left unsecured.
