During a recent government meeting in Fair Oaks Ranch, residents voiced concerns regarding traffic issues following the reopening of Noble Ark Drive. Mark Friberg, a local resident, submitted a letter detailing significant increases in traffic since the street's reopening. He reported that traffic counts during peak hours showed a rise from approximately 80 vehicles on August 23 to 115 vehicles by September 4. Morning traffic also surged, with counts reaching 150 vehicles on September 3 and 4. Friberg noted a 31% increase in total weekly traffic from mid-August to the end of the month and expressed support for a full street closure to address safety concerns.
The meeting also recognized two city employees for their five years of service. School Resource Officer Amanda Pena was highlighted for her dedication to the community, including her role in organizing a successful Christmas toy drive that collected over 1,500 toys for local charities. Her contributions to community engagement and youth programs, such as the junior police academy, were commended, and she was awarded the Employee of the Quarter for Q1 2023.
The discussions underscored ongoing community concerns about traffic safety and the city's commitment to recognizing and supporting its employees' contributions to local welfare.
