In a significant development, two seniors from Central High School, Ariana Chavez and Jasmine Flores, presented a proposal for a year-round Hispanic Student Association (HSA). This initiative aims to foster a supportive community for Hispanic students while also welcoming non-Hispanic peers to engage with and celebrate Hispanic culture. The HSA plans to organize various activities, including bake sales and soccer tournaments, and intends to provide a platform for students to voice their concerns and embrace their cultural heritage.

The students have already secured approval from school officials and are seeking support from the local government to help promote their events and initiatives. They expressed a desire to connect with younger students in the community, planning outreach activities such as reading sessions and dance lessons at local middle schools.
