A city representative emphasized the dangers posed by vehicles exceeding the speed limit, noting that the average speed recorded was 35 mph in a 25 mph zone. This issue is particularly pressing given the proximity of eight elementary schools in the area, all of which have synchronized start times, complicating enforcement efforts.

To combat the speeding problem, officials proposed several strategies, including the potential relocation of existing speed cameras and the installation of additional flashing speed signs. The representative mentioned that a speed camera is already in place further down Cedar Park but suggested that moving it could improve its effectiveness.
