The program, which includes all students from grades 6 to 8, assigns each member to one of four houses—Altruismo, Amistad, Essenbendini, and Rivera—each with unique characteristics and values.
The assembly began with an introduction to the house system, emphasizing core values such as friendship, courage, and community service. Each house competes in various activities, promoting a sense of belonging and pride. The houses have their own colors, chants, and symbols, which were enthusiastically presented by student council members.
House Altruismo, represented by Isabel and Ximena, is characterized by its focus on empowerment and leadership, symbolized by a heart and a snake. House Amistad, introduced by Jack and Kira, emphasizes friendship and teamwork, with a peacock as its symbolic animal. Demetrius and Octavio presented House Essenbendini, which embodies courage and strength, drawing inspiration from South African heritage. Finally, House Rivera, represented by Jolene and Ezekiel, celebrates dreams and creativity, with a wolf as its emblem.
The assembly also detailed the house point system, which encourages participation and embodies the spirit of competition. Points are awarded for various achievements, including participation in events and demonstrating core values. The house with the most points at the end of the school year will be celebrated as the champion.
