During a recent meeting of the Blue Ridge School District Board, members paid tribute to the late Ferrell Fish, a beloved figure in the community known for his extensive contributions as a teacher, coach, and principal. Fish, who dedicated his entire career to the district after graduating from Lakeside High School, was remembered fondly for his humor and commitment to students. Colleagues shared anecdotes highlighting his legendary status, including his daily jogs well into his eighties and his impactful coaching, which led to a state championship in girls' basketball.
