Among the speakers was Matt Page, a resident of Irvine, who advocated for the establishment of disc golf courses in the Orange County park system. Page highlighted the absence of any disc golf facilities across the county's 60,000 acres of parkland, despite the sport's origins in Southern California. He emphasized the benefits of disc golf, including its accessibility, minimal maintenance costs, and potential to foster community engagement and healthy lifestyles.

Page urged the board to collaborate with the OC park system to identify suitable locations for a full-length disc golf course, suggesting parks such as Mason Regional Park and Irvine Regional Park as potential sites. He expressed hope for support from both the board and the Irvine Community Services Commission in bringing this initiative to fruition.
