The Atascadero Chamber of Commerce has reported significant success with its \"Get Your Business Online\" program, which was funded in October 2023 and launched in January 2024. The initiative aims to assist small businesses in San Luis Obispo County by providing them with simple, customized websites at no cost.
During a recent government meeting, CEO of the Chamber, along with program manager Jose Guadarrama, highlighted the program's impact, noting that it has supported 131 local businesses, saving them over $100,000 in website development and maintenance costs. The websites typically include essential information such as hours of operation, contact details, and menus, helping businesses establish an online presence without the financial burden often associated with digital services.
Guadarrama emphasized the program's commitment to inclusivity, offering Spanish translations of all services to support Hispanic-owned businesses. He encouraged all local businesses, especially startups and those without websites, to take advantage of this opportunity.
The program has garnered recognition, being awarded as the top initiative by the Western Association of Chamber Executives, and is set to continue through May 2025. The Chamber plans to expand its efforts, particularly in coastal and southern areas of the county, with a goal of creating 200 business websites to further empower the local business community.
