During a recent government meeting, the council adopted the minutes from the July 22 and August 5, 2024 meetings, with unanimous approval. Councilman Byers participated via phone, ensuring his presence was acknowledged.

County Administrator Jason Ward presented the awards, beginning with Tyler Caswell, named First Responder of the Quarter. Caswell, an EMS crew chief, was commended for his exceptional medical support and mentorship of colleagues, particularly those pursuing paramedic certification. His dedication to the community and the EMS team was emphasized, with accolades noting that any county would be fortunate to have him.

The second recognition went to Kobe Hoff from the facilities department, awarded Employee of the Quarter. Hoff, who has been with the department since graduating high school, was praised for his unmatched commitment and positive attitude. His willingness to assist beyond regular duties, even on weekends and holidays, exemplifies the spirit of service within Dorchester County government.
