The event featured remarks from Mari Sandoval, interim chair of the San Antonio Commission, who celebrated the commission's 30th anniversary and its mission to promote Latin American histories and cultures through various community events. Sandoval invited residents to participate in upcoming festivities, including the annual Mariachi Festival and the Fiesta Patrias parade.

Ruben Garcia, representing the Consulate General of Mexico, emphasized the deep cultural ties between San Antonio and Mexico, noting that the city's identity is enriched by its Hispanic heritage. Council member Rocha Garcia highlighted the importance of women's representation in government, particularly in light of Mexico's new female president. She encouraged participation in the upcoming Hispana Unidas conference, which celebrates the achievements of Latinas in the community.
