During a recent government meeting, officials highlighted significant developments at the local high school, particularly praising the new lunch program and ongoing construction projects.
Peter Robinson was commended for capturing photos and videos of the high school, showcasing the vibrant atmosphere during lunchtime. Nir, a key speaker at the meeting, expressed gratitude towards Chris Piercey and his staff for their efforts in establishing a successful lunch program, which has transformed the dining experience for students.
The meeting also addressed the extensive work completed over the summer at the high school. Notable improvements include a new bus circle and parking area on the north side of the building, as well as the construction of dugouts for the baseball field and the addition of six tennis courts, two of which have been striped for pickleball. This marks a significant milestone, as the community has been without tennis courts for three years.
Officials acknowledged the collaboration with Lewiston, which has allowed students to continue participating in sporting events despite previous challenges. The enhancements are expected to provide students with better facilities and opportunities for athletic engagement starting this spring.
