A homicide investigation in Gardner over the weekend has drawn attention to the swift response of local law enforcement. The incident, which initially appeared to be an overdose call, revealed a gruesome crime scene that left a seven-year-old child present during the events.

Sergeant Coleman and the first two deputies on the scene acted quickly, securing the area and calling for detective assistance. By noon on Saturday, the suspect was in custody, having confessed to the crime. The child was later interviewed by professionals, who reported that she was coping well despite the traumatic experience.
