The proposed designs for the 37th Street play lot include two concepts, with the second option receiving the majority of support—161 votes out of 214. This design features a variety of play structures, including swings with accessible seats, climbing elements, and a zip line, all integrated into the natural landscape. The estimated cost for this project is approximately $838,000, which includes an accessible pathway and play equipment.

At Pinon Park, the renovation plans also focus on enhancing accessibility and maintaining the park's character, particularly its iconic rocket-themed features. Two concepts were presented, with the second option winning 218 out of 219 votes. This design includes a nature play circuit and various play structures, with an estimated cost of around $154,000. Improvements will also address stormwater management and the replacement of deteriorating surfaces.

Both playgrounds were identified as needing updates due to their age and condition, with officials noting that they are at the end of their lifespan. The meeting highlighted the importance of creating safe and accessible play areas for all children, including those with special needs. Concerns were raised about safety barriers between playgrounds and parking areas, which officials assured would be maintained.
