The Stoneman Row Falls Public Library is set to enhance its outreach services significantly with the introduction of a new bookmobile, which will begin operations this September. Amanda Rome and Megan, the library's outreach coordinators, presented the initiative during a recent government meeting, highlighting the library's commitment to serving the community, particularly seniors.
The bookmobile, a 26-foot vehicle equipped with shelves of books for both children and adults, will make weekly stops at local senior centers, starting every Tuesday at 2 PM. This initiative aims to provide greater access to library resources for seniors, who will have the option to either visit the bookmobile or receive materials through a \"lobby stop\" service, where library staff will bring selections directly to their facilities.
In addition to the bookmobile, the library plans to implement a deposit collection service, allowing facilities to keep a rotating selection of books on-site. This approach ensures that seniors have continuous access to new reading materials tailored to their preferences.
The outreach team emphasized the flexibility of the bookmobile services, noting that patrons can return borrowed books to any participating library within the Cleveland system. Furthermore, the bookmobile will feature popular bestsellers and large print options, catering to diverse reading needs.
This initiative marks a significant step forward in the library's outreach efforts, aiming to foster a love for reading and learning among all age groups in the community.
