In an effort to enhance workforce skills, the IDB is launching a 13-week industrial maintenance boot camp program funded by a TVA Invest Prep grant, set to begin in September. This initiative aims to provide existing employees with training to advance within their current roles.

Furthermore, the IDB is working with the University of Tennessee Space Institute to attract defense and aerospace industries to Lincoln County, with more details expected in the coming months.

The meeting also covered various administrative motions, including the approval of vehicle purchases for the sheriff's department and discussions on a tax resolution for county commissioners. A proposal to provide a $600 supplement for commissioners completing continuing education training was ultimately rejected after a failed motion.
