Attendance at Cascade Bay Water Park has shown a mixed performance this summer, with June experiencing a notable decline attributed to inclement weather. The park's management reported that June's attendance was lower than previous years, largely due to rain, which impacted the outdoor facility's visitor numbers. However, July saw a rebound, with attendance exceeding figures from the same month last year, despite fewer days of extreme heat.
The park recorded three days in July with over 3,000 visitors, a significant increase compared to only two such days in 2022. This uptick in attendance was facilitated by extended operating hours and the introduction of iPad scanners, which improved tracking of guest numbers and safety measures.
As of the latest report, Cascade Bay has welcomed nearly 94,000 visitors this season, with expectations to reach between 100,000 and 110,000 by the end of the summer. The park's diverse offerings, including fitness programs like Cardio Bay, have contributed to its popularity, particularly during peak morning hours.
Management is actively exploring ways to enhance attendance further, especially during less busy times, and is optimistic about the remaining days of the season. Youth groups and birthday parties continue to play a vital role in attendance, accounting for approximately 12 to 15% of yearly visitors, a figure that has been recovering since pandemic-related restrictions were lifted.
