In a recent government meeting, officials discussed a proposal to amend Planned Development District 2346 to permit the construction of a substantial ground storage water tank at 231 Lookout Drive. The site, which spans 16.335 acres and is strategically located near the President George Bush Turnpike, is designated for business use according to the Envision 2030 comprehensive plan.

The applicant seeks to build a cylindrical water storage tank measuring 150 feet in diameter and 96 feet in height, capable of holding 10 million gallons of water. Additionally, the proposal includes a 37,970 square foot overflow basin and a 500 square foot electrical control building, both of which are considered accessory structures to the main development.

The site is bordered by three major roads: President George Bush Turnpike to the west, Lookout Drive to the south, and Telecom Parkway to the east. The area is currently characterized by a mix of developments, including a substation to the east and a medical office clinic to the south.

During the meeting, officials reviewed site plans and landscaping proposals, which include extensive greenery along the major roadways. The amendment would allow the groundwater storage tank to be included in the permitted uses for the Employment Mixed Use (EMU) character zone within the district.

The proposal is now under consideration, with further discussions anticipated as stakeholders evaluate its implications for the community and surrounding developments.
