The Burbank Community Band is gearing up for its second annual Halloween concert, set to take place on Saturday, October 26th, at 5 PM. The event will be held at the First Christian Church of Burbank, located at 221 South 6th Street.
During a recent government meeting, a representative from the band invited local musicians who play brass or woodwind instruments to join rehearsals on Friday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 at Robert E. Gross Park. The upcoming concert promises an exciting repertoire, featuring pieces such as Edvard Grieg's \"March of the Trolls,\" Puccini's \"La Traviata,\" and selections from popular films and stage productions, including music from \"Harry Potter,\" \"Wicked,\" and Tim Burton's \"The Nightmare Before Christmas.\"
In addition to the musical performances, the concert will include a costume contest with prizes for both adults and children, encouraging attendees to celebrate the Halloween spirit. The event is free to the public, made possible by the generous support of the Burbank Community Arts Grant.
The meeting concluded with board members expressing their enthusiasm for the concert and appreciation for the efforts to promote community engagement through music.
