During a recent government meeting, heartfelt tributes were paid to two remarkable women who left lasting legacies in their families and communities.
Cheryl Huff, the mother of Shoshanna Huff, director of human resources, passed away unexpectedly last week. Shoshanna honored her mother’s memory, describing Cheryl as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel supported and loved. Shoshanna reflected on her mother’s caring and generous nature, emphasizing her role as a confidant and prayer warrior. Cheryl is survived by her husband of 42 years, three children, seven grandchildren, and a wide circle of extended family and friends.
The meeting also recognized Sylvia LaTore, the mother of Cecilia Vega, office manager at Plymouth Elementary School. LaTore was celebrated as a pioneering figure in the Philippine entertainment industry, known as the first lady of Philippine television and the queen of traditional Filipino love songs. Cecilia shared that while her mother was a superstar and an icon, to her family, she was simply \"mom\" or \"Mamacita.\" LaTore was remembered for her loving, humble, and devout spirit, instilling values of love, forgiveness, and faith in her children.
Both tributes highlighted the profound impact these women had on their families and the broader community, ensuring their legacies will endure in the hearts of those who knew them.
