The donations included $1,000 from the press First Presbyterian Church, $250 from Candy Kitchen, $1,000 from KJS Properties, $1,500 from Dairy Queen, $1,500 from Subway, and $2,000 from Colts.
The total contributions amounted to $6,450, aimed at addressing negative meal balances and enhancing athletic programs. The board expressed gratitude to these organizations for their commitment to supporting student athletes and the broader school community.
Following the announcement, a motion was made and seconded to approve all donations, which passed unanimously. The meeting then transitioned to public comments, where community member Julie Reeves, a Martinsville native and parent of two graduates, expressed her pride in the local school system.
