During a recent government meeting, officials discussed the financial assistance request from Davis and Weber Counties Kennel Companies for the widening of 1800 North in Clinton. The project aims to transform the current roadway into a four-lane thoroughfare with turn lanes, addressing both capacity and maintenance concerns. A key aspect of the project involves relocating a 30-year-old, 12-inch pipeline currently buried beneath the road. The pipeline will be moved to a park strip, allowing for easier access and compliance with UDOT regulations that require pipelines to be buried at least four feet deep.

Concerns were raised regarding the impact of road construction on local water systems, with discussions highlighting the responsibilities of the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the water service providers. Officials noted that while UDOT will cover costs related to their direct impact on the water system, the water entity is also expected to participate in the project due to the necessity of relocating their infrastructure.
