In a recent government meeting, officials announced exciting updates for the upcoming Carol of Lights event, emphasizing enhanced community engagement and entertainment. Mayor Tate will prerecord messages and videos that will be broadcasted throughout Main Street, allowing attendees to hear from the mayor even if they are not present at the tree lighting ceremony. This initiative aims to foster greater interaction between the community and council members, with multiple stages set up for the event.
The meeting also highlighted the introduction of two drone shows scheduled for December 2 and December 9, both at 7 PM. The shows will take place at the north and south ends of Main Street, respectively, with a viewing zone extending from Dallas to Northwest Highway. This year, the drone display will feature a significant increase from 200 to 400 drones, showcasing 12 custom formations alongside traditional Christmas designs. The shows will be synchronized with music, enhancing the overall experience for spectators.
To accommodate the drone shows, Main Street will be closed to traffic starting at 5:30 PM, with plans to reopen by 8:30 PM. These developments reflect the city's commitment to creating a festive and inclusive atmosphere for residents and visitors during the holiday season.
