In a recent government meeting, officials discussed community activities and improvements at local parks, as well as updates from the senior center.
The meeting began with a report on the park's condition following recent heavy rains. Officials noted that the park has been heavily utilized for various events, including cross-country meets and flag football games held every Sunday. While the park is currently in rough shape, efforts are underway to address minor damages, with plans to complete repairs this week, weather permitting.
Additionally, the community is gearing up for the upcoming holiday market, scheduled for November 10th at the Stacy Pavilion. The event will run from 11 AM to 4 PM and will feature activities both inside and outside the pavilion, aimed at celebrating Thanksgiving and supporting local vendors.
From the senior center, a recent member survey yielded overwhelmingly positive feedback, with 79 responses and only one negative comment. The center is considering suggestions from members to enhance its offerings. Notably, the center is excited about repurposing office space previously occupied by the BAV into a classroom. Plans include integrating a virtual reality system to provide therapeutic activities for seniors, particularly those dealing with Alzheimer's and dementia. This innovative approach aims to enhance the well-being of participants through engaging experiences.
The meeting concluded with a call for further updates and community involvement, highlighting the ongoing commitment to improving local facilities and services.
