In a recent government meeting, officials from Keep Park County Beautiful highlighted the success of community efforts to reduce litter, noting a significant decrease in trash along local bike paths compared to previous years. Dr. Esproud commended the organization’s work, emphasizing the positive impact of residents taking pride in their surroundings. He shared personal experiences of litter collection, noting that the amount of debris found has diminished over time.
The meeting also addressed the management of yard waste, with officials reminding residents of Clark County that they can dispose of yard waste for free at CNS on Dayton Road. This initiative aims to promote recycling and responsible waste management within the community.
Additionally, the board discussed the ongoing development of a draft solid waste district management plan. Dr. Esproud, a member of the solid waste policy committee, expressed hope that the city would adopt the plan soon, which is essential for compliance with Ohio EPA regulations. The plan is designed to enhance local waste management strategies and will ultimately be certified by the policy committee once adopted.
Concerns regarding illegal dumping were also raised, with officials encouraging residents to report any incidents, including those occurring at state reservoirs. The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn, followed by a scheduled public hearing.
