In a recent meeting, officials from the Central Union High School District celebrated the progress made under Bond Measure K, which was approved by voters in 2018. Trustee Diana Garcia Ruiz, one of the original board members involved in the bond's inception, highlighted the significant developments, including the completion of a state-of-the-art STEM building and the upcoming construction of a new aquatic center.
The aquatic center, designed to enhance student opportunities, will feature a 50 by 25 meter pool with adjustable lengths, a learn-to-swim area, and seating for 346 spectators. Ruiz emphasized the importance of community support in making these projects a reality, thanking various local organizations and partners for their contributions.
Superior Court Judge Monica Le Penegrete, a member of the oversight committee for the bond, echoed Ruiz's sentiments about the power of community involvement. She recounted the collaborative efforts of educators and community members who recognized the urgent need for improved educational infrastructure. Their dedication led to the successful passage of the bond, which aims to provide students with enhanced educational facilities and opportunities.
The meeting underscored the ongoing commitment to investing in the future of local students, with officials expressing gratitude for the community's support in these transformative projects.
