In a recent forum held at Central Union High School, community members gathered to support the selection of new board members for the school board. Ron Medeiros, a social studies teacher and department chair, opened the meeting by thanking attendees for their participation and emphasizing the collaborative effort behind organizing the event, which included input from various teachers.
Medeiros noted that two candidates, Debbie Elliott and Yolanda Tovaras, were unable to attend the debate, which would feature a structured format allowing candidates to respond to questions. Each candidate was allotted time for opening statements and responses, with the goal of introducing themselves to the community and potentially securing endorsements from the Central Union High School Teachers Association (ECSCA).
The first candidate to speak, Bademian Ramirez, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to participate and highlighted her commitment to the future of students in the district. She emphasized that her candidacy is driven by a personal investment in the education and well-being of children, both current and future students.
The forum aimed to facilitate a dialogue between candidates and the community, allowing voters to make informed decisions in the upcoming board elections.
