Center City Amarillo has been recognized for the 23rd consecutive year as a state and national Main Street city, a designation that reflects its adherence to high standards of community development and revitalization. The organization reported impressive financial figures for the fiscal year 2023, with a total of $78 million in reinvestment, which includes $3.5 million in private investment, $33.5 million in public investment, and $39 million in public-private partnerships. Since joining the Main Street program in 2008, the district has seen nearly $772 million in total reinvestments.

The presentation also noted the impact of facade grants, with over $1.5 million allocated to beautifying buildings in the area, encouraging property owners to match these funds for improvements. Center City Amarillo continues to engage the community through various events, including the upcoming Jazztober concert series and the annual electric light parade, which are designed to be accessible and enjoyable for residents.

Additionally, the organization promotes historic preservation through initiatives like guided tours of downtown buildings, which attracted 250 participants in May. The iconic hoofprint project, featuring fiberglass horses, has expanded to over 130 installations, symbolizing the community's spirit and connection to its history.

Plans for further enhancements include refurbishing the 24-year-old gateway arches with new powder coating and LED lighting, aimed at creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors. The collaborative efforts between Center City Amarillo, the city government, and local citizens were praised as vital to the ongoing success and pride in the downtown area.
