During a recent government meeting, officials celebrated the achievements of local students and recognized the positive impact of the Acceleration Academy (EAA) on their educational journeys. The meeting commenced with congratulations directed towards various departments for their hard work, followed by a special acknowledgment of Yoretsi Alpiskell, a senior from Permian High School, who received an award for her accomplishments.
The public comment segment featured two speakers, both of whom shared personal testimonies about their experiences at the Acceleration Academy. He expressed gratitude for the support he received at the academy, which helped him regain his confidence and focus on his education. Atchison is now on track to graduate and plans to pursue a pre-med and biology major at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.
Jonathan Cox, the second speaker, echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the individualized attention and support he received at the academy, which allowed him to overcome academic challenges. Both speakers emphasized the importance of mentorship and the nurturing environment provided by the Acceleration Academy, which they credited for their personal growth and academic success.
The meeting concluded with officials commending the courage of the speakers and reaffirming their commitment to supporting educational initiatives that empower students.
