In a recent government meeting, officials presented the preliminary design for the renovation of Lake Travis High School's Cavalier Stadium and the addition of a new Women's Fieldhouse. The project, spearheaded by Claycomb Architects, aims to modernize the facilities to meet the standards of comparable districts.

Architect Jeffrey Floyd outlined the ambitious plans, which include a significant expansion of seating capacity and improved amenities. The renovation will feature a U-shaped bleacher configuration, increasing the total seating to approximately 6,500 on the home side and 3,800 for visitors, with additional seating for band members. The design also incorporates a new press box with enhanced sightlines and hospitality areas, addressing current deficiencies in the existing structure.

The Women's Fieldhouse will be a three-story building, providing dedicated locker rooms, training facilities, and office space for both men's and women's athletic programs. This addition is expected to enhance the overall athletic experience for students and visiting teams alike.

Key features of the renovation include upgraded restroom facilities, expanded concession areas, and a relocated Cavalier Spirit Shack, which will now operate as a permanent structure accessible to the public even when the stadium is not in use. The design also emphasizes accessibility, with multiple entry points and ramps to accommodate all visitors.
