In a recent government meeting, the newly appointed director of Rochester Animal Services, Stacy Papadopoulos, was introduced to the attendees, marking her first public engagement since taking the role seven weeks ago. Commissioner Green facilitated the introduction, emphasizing the importance of familiarizing the community with Papadopoulos and her vision for the animal services department.

During her brief address, Papadopoulos expressed her enthusiasm for her new position and her commitment to serving both the residents and animals of Rochester. She shared her background, which includes a degree in pre-veterinary medicine from Albright College in Pennsylvania and extensive experience in animal shelter management. Prior to her appointment in Rochester, she worked at the Pennsylvania SPCA, where she managed operations across multiple shelter locations and oversaw humane law enforcement for 18 counties.

Papadopoulos highlighted her dedication to improving animal welfare in the community and her eagerness to contribute positively to Rochester's animal services. Her experience managing a shelter that handled approximately 15,000 animals annually positions her well to address the challenges and opportunities within the Rochester area.
