This tool allows law enforcement to access vital school security information, such as geo-referenced floor plans and site maps, to enhance their preparedness in responding to potential threats. Currently, the text map includes security information for over 3,700 public and charter schools across the state.
James also highlighted the proactive measures taken by DPS, including the assignment of 198 troopers to schools and the completion of over 3,000 school visits in August 2024 alone.
