Laura Griswold, representing seven homeowners associations in Hollingsworth Park, urged the council to adopt an amendment to the Development Code that would require community meetings prior to permit approvals for new or revised campus master plans. She highlighted issues with Verde Development, which had promised transparency and adherence to deed restrictions during the rezoning process for Legacy Square. Griswold expressed concern over recent changes to these commitments, particularly regarding parking structures that could increase density in the area. She called for the council's support to ensure community voices are heard in future developments.

John Slipsky, co-vice president of the Haney Serene Neighborhood Association, praised the city’s planning staff for their extensive community engagement in updating the neighborhood's master plan. He noted the collaborative efforts that included stakeholder interviews, public meetings, and surveys, which he believes have effectively addressed community priorities.
