During a recent government meeting, the Technical Review Committee (TRC) addressed several key development projects, including a request to continue discussions on the Jaddis RV Park until the next meeting scheduled for November 20 at 8:30 AM. The motion to continue was unanimously approved.
The committee also reviewed the Topsail Hill Preserve facilities redevelopment, a minor development application submitted by George and Associates Consulting Engineers on behalf of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. The project aims to enhance existing amenities on over 1,640 acres designated for conservation. All comments from staff, except for one minor planning issue regarding utility provider information, have been addressed. The committee recommended moving forward with the project pending the successful resubmission of the necessary planning comment.
Additionally, the Osprey Pines major development project was introduced, which involves the construction of 93 multifamily units, with 40% designated as income-restricted. This project, submitted by Dunlap and Shipman, PA, is located on 3.12 acres at 830 JD Miller Road and falls under the provisions of the Live Local Act. The site is categorized for mixed-use development, and the committee noted that it had not received any public comments regarding this project. However, there are outstanding comments from various county departments that need to be addressed before proceeding.
The meeting highlighted the ongoing efforts to balance development with community needs, particularly in terms of affordable housing and environmental considerations.
