During a recent government meeting, heartfelt tributes were paid to the late Mister Dalton, a beloved paraprofessional and industrial arts instructor at LaBelle High School, who passed away. His contributions to the school community were recognized, with attendees expressing deep sorrow over his loss.
The meeting also addressed the tragic deaths of two students, Francisco and Nicholas Lopez, from LaBelle Middle School and Wilson High School, respectively. A moment of silence was observed in their memory, highlighting the profound impact such losses have on families and the educational community.
In a more uplifting segment, the meeting featured a presentation recognizing outstanding academic achievements by students from LaBelle Middle School. Principal Ryan Harris and Assistant Principal Miss Ruiz led the commendation of two exceptional students, Guadalupe Mengele and Derek Arias. Guadalupe earned a perfect score on her 6th-grade FAST test, while Derek achieved a perfect score on his civics End-of-Course exam. Their accomplishments were celebrated as exemplary of the talent and potential within the student body, reinforcing the message that students in rural areas can excel just as much as those in larger districts.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with applause for the students and encouragement for their continued success.
